GAME DATE: Nov. 26 vs. UBC
LOCATION: Vancouver, BC – 5:00pm MST

HEADLINES:

The Cougars have been decimated by injuries, losing a large number of man-games already this season. They will be looking to bounce back from their weekend sweep at the hands of the Pronghorns last weekend, a first in their Canada West career.

THE SERIES:

Mount Royal is 6-6-4 against the Thunderbirds in four seasons of Canada West competition.

MOUNT ROYAL COUGARS (7-5-0)

The Cougars uncharacteristically dropped two in a row to Lethbridge last weekend. The Cougars injury troubles continue, but fortunately, they still have all-star goaltender Colin Cooper. Cooper has been the team's early season MVP, standing on his head, game after game for Mount Royal. Cooper ranks second in the conference in goals against average (2.26), save percentage (.916) and wins (7). Luke Simpson, Connor Rankin and Jamal Watson all have 12 points for Mount Royal this season, sitting in a tie for seventh place in the conference.

UBC THUNDERBIRDS (4-8-0)

The Thunderbirds have had an underwhelming start to the 2016-17 season. After losing six of their first seven games, they won three straight. However, they stumbled last weekend, losing back to back games to last place Regina. Anthony Bardaro leads the UBC offence this season. The fourth-year forward has 12 points (7G, 5A) in 12 games.
