MOUNT ROYAL COUGARS (4-2-0)
The Cougars will have to bounce back from their first losses of the season. The Cougars ran into some injury trouble against the Alberta Golden Bears but will look to have most of their key players back in the lineup this weekend. Jamal Watson has been a catalyst for Mount Royal in his rookie season. Watson, who was just named the Muscle MLK Athlete of the Month, has had an exceptional start to his Canada West career, leading the Cougars in scoring (2G, 4A). Colin Cooper is 4-1 this season and boasts an impressive 2.21 goals against average.
SASKATCHEWAN HUSKIES (6-1-1)
The Huskies sit atop the conference, taking points in seven of their eight regular season games. One season removed from being named the Canada West MVP, Jordan Cooke is having another banner year in 2016-17. The third year goaltender has a 1.96 goals against average and .930 save percentage. Kohl Bauml is tearing up the league early on. The Saskatoon native has 10 points (3G, 7A) in eight games this season.
