    CALGARY – Danielle Lugotoff scored the game winner in the 39th minute of the first half to secure Mount Royal’s second straight playoff berth. Amanda Schafer added two goals in the second half to solidify the 3-0 victory. Cailyn Leeson was not forced to make any saves in the shutout.
  • Cougars stun Pandas on Senior Day at MRU Stadium Field

    CALGARY – The Mount Royal Cougars upset the Alberta Pandas 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Morgan Corbett scored the opening goal for Alberta before Emily Sands tied it in the second half. Erin Holt then scored the game winner shortly thereafter to lead the Cougars to victory.

They have managed a win and tie against the UNBC Timberwolves.

So did the Mount Royal University Cougars. Although the Calgary-based squad entered the contest three games below .500, the Cougars played the Griffins as tough as anyone has at Jasper Place Bowl this season and were full marks for a 1-1 draw.

    WINNIPEG — After a scoreless first half, the Manitoba Bisons women’s soccer team (3-3-1) found the net three times in the second as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Mount Royal (2-5-0) on October 1, 2016 at the U of M Turf Fields West Field. Bison captain Amanda Wong’s game winning goal in the 54’ minute gave Manitoba all the confidence they needed to carry on to victory as they scored twice more late in the second half to secure their third win of the season.

    CALGARY - The Huskies only needed one goal to get by Mount Royal at Cougars Stadium Field on Sunday. A beautiful strike from the Huskies’ Erica Hindmarsh, combined with excellent defence, secured the 1-0 win for the University of Saskatchewan.

Although they have only played four games, the season is one third over and Mount Royal is on the outside looking in at a playoff spot.     CALGARY – Carly Neis scored the lone goal of the game for Mount Royal to solidify their first win of the season. Cailyn Leeson provided a clean sheet for the Cougars, recording her first ever CIS shutout.

    CALGARY – The Calgary Dinos ruined Mount Royal’s home opener defeating them 4-0 this afternoon at Cougars Stadium Field. Maddie Lee, Carmen Lee, Natalie Arnett and Maddison Fritze all found the back of the net for the Dinos. The Cougars were held scoreless for the second time in three matches.

    VANCOUVER - The UBC Thunderdbirds women's soccer team (1-0-1) secured the season’s first conference-win in a triumphant return to Thunderbird Stadium on Firday night. Five different scorers contributed to the 5-0 victory over the visiting Mount Royal Cougars, with three coming in a furious final 10 minutes of play.
