If Mount Royal is able to take all six regulation points from Regina they would move into fifth place in the conference. The Cougars have all but locked up a playoff spot and are now looking to improve their standing within the conference.

Nicolette Seper and Tianna Ko notched goals for Mount Royal in the loss.

    Mount Royal scores four in the second to sweep away Horns in Lethbridge LETHBRIDGE – Exploding for four second period goals, the Mount Royal Cougars completed the home-and-home weekend sweep of the Lethbridge Pronghorns with a 4-2. With the win the Cougars improve to 4-6-0-2 and now hold a four point cushion on the Pronghorns for the final playoff spot. The loss drops the ‘Horns record to 2-7-1-2.

    Bisons score twice to defeat Mount Royal for the second day in a row CALGARY – Lauryn Keen and Erica Rieder scored for the Bisons to secure the sweep over Mount Royal on Saturday afternoon. Erin McLean scored her first goal as Cougar in the loss. After a scoreless first period, it was Mount Royal who opened the scoring just 1:34 into the second. After a mad scramble in front of the Manitoba goal the puck squirted out to the point where Erin McLean was waiting for it.

    Cougars welcome the Bisons to Flames Community Arenas for home opener Manitoba and Mount Royal had opposite results in their first weekend of regular season play. The Bisons outscored Lethbridge 8-1 in their first two victories of the season. Mount Royal had trouble getting on the board this weekend, scoring only two goals in their two losses to Regina.

    Regina sweeps away Mount Royal on Thanksgiving weekend REGINA - Two powerplay goals powered the University of Regina women’s hockey team to a 3-1 win over Mount Royal University at The Co-operators Centre on Saturday afternoon. Merissa Zerr, Jaycee Magwood and Alexis Larson were the goal scorers for the Cougars, while Gabrielle Seper notched a powerplay goal in the second period for her second in as many contests.

    The Canada West season kicks off with the "Battle of the Cougars" The first installment of the battle of the Cougars goes Friday night at the Co-operator’s Centre. Last year Regina won three of the four games including an overtime thriller. Mount Royal always plays Regina tough and in the first game of the season, it should be no different.
