    SASKATOON – For the second night in a row the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's volleyball team was too much for the Mount Royal Cougars to handle in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16) victory inside the PAC on February 16.

    CALGARY – Cougars finish their last game of regular season on home court with a bang. Not only did the Cougars win both matches, but defeated their hometown rival the University of Calgary Dinos.     Mount Royal has had one of the best starts since joining Canada West and U SPORTS sitting with a record of 9-3 after one semester of play, good enough for a national ranking of fifth in the country. This year's team appears to be a perfect blend of new and old faces. Newcomers Trent Mounter, Luis Lange, and João Pedro Freire are not only settling in nicely, but they are also regular contributors and they are with some good mentors as the veterans are leading by example.

    CALGARY – MRU Cougars women’s basketball coach Nate McKibbon will assistant coach Team Canada in the FIBA U16 Women’s Americas Championship 2019. The coaching staff was announced by Canada Basketball last Friday. He joins the elite group of other Mount Royal University head coaches, who have been a part of Canadian national team programs.

MRU improves to an 8-3 record while UBC drops to 2-9.
