    CALGARY – The Mount Royal Cougars Men’s Volleyball program is pleased to announce the signing of Jackson Brennan from the Canuck Dinos Volleyball Club. Brennan will enter his first year of eligibility with the Cougars in 2017-18.

  • 2017 Best of the West Tournament - Draw, Playoff Bracket, Teams & Rosters

    The tournament will feature two age class divisions – a 10 team U17 Division and a 10 team U18 Division. The tournament draw and playoff brackets are included in this package. Pool Seeding was based on a combination of last year’s results at Nationals and this year’s results at provincial premier tournaments (*where possible inter-provincial matchups will be avoided within the pools). 45 min practice times between 9 am and 1:30 pm are available on Friday, April 14th.     The final weekend of the season happens to be the biggest for both Mount Royal and Winnipeg. Tied for sixth place at 12-10, both sides are looking to improve their playoff positioning but neither team has actually clinched a spot in the postseason. Saskatchewan trails both teams by a single win but have the 2-20 TRU Wolfpack this weekend and could jump either Mount Royal or Winnipeg if either team manages to get swept.

While Brandon has more wins (11), the Cougars are ahead of them in the standings with a better winning percentage. Two wins for either side this weekend would keep pace with UBC, who will be playing the last place Regina Cougars this weekend.
