Cougar student athletes have shown a large commitment to the community through their tireless volunteer efforts. Student athletes are heavily in youth sports as well as other chartibale initatives. Over the last calendar year the Cougars have been very active with the Athlete Mentorship Program, C is for Cougars, Cougars on the Court and Between Friends.

On top of their practice schedules, training and their studies the Cougar student athletes were nothing short of amazing this past season. In 2014-15, Mount Royal’s 172 student athletes earned over 3445 volunteer hours in not only the Calgary Community but around the world.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARDS

The Cougar Community Leadership Awards Presented by WestJet honour the male and female student athletes that have made the biggest imprint on their community. The winners of this annual award have displayed leadership through volunteering, mentoring and working within their communities.

Presenting the Award is Cougars Monster Hockey Pool Coordinator Laurier Campeau.Along with the award, the winners each receive two passes anywhere WestJet flies.
